Best experience ever buying a home. They work hard for the veteran to get a great loan and help you along the way.
The process went very smooth and they helped me navigate my first home purchase. I look forward to working with them again if I am buying again!
We have tried several other loan companies. V.U. is much faster by far

The Veterans United members are an outstanding group and will walk you completely through the loan process. If you have anything that you might need an answer to, just give them a call. They will definitely get in touch with you with an answer.
With me every step of the process. Great communication.
After having a bad time with a bank for four and a half months. I came to Veterans United hoping to find relief and boy did they ever make this transition and every step along the way easy to deal with. I got daily updates, where they were at, what they needed from me and the next steps that we would address. I had direct contact when I needed it and fast responses all of which I did not get from the bank. I could be no happier.
First time home buyer here. It could not have gone better as far as I'm concerned. Everyone was great.
Smooth start. Horrible bumpy ending once we got to underwriting, Constantly going in circles and honestly gave me the impression that I was being scammed until everything finally closed. Communication was scarce. And to find out this company has no actual affiliation with the VA leaves me speechless considering “Veteran’s” is literally in the name. Please consider a name change instead using that word as a cash grab to lure service members in.
Response from Veterans United
Hi Jessie,
I’m really sorry for how difficult the final stretch of your loan felt. Going in circles during underwriting and struggling to get clear communication can be exhausting, and I understand why that would leave you feeling uneasy right up until closing. That’s not the experience we want for anyone.
I also hear your concern about our name and VA affiliation. While we’re not part of the Department of Veterans Affairs, we are a VA-approved lender that focuses on serving Veterans and military families. Still, I understand how important clarity and transparency are, and I’m sorry if that wasn’t clearly explained along the way.
Your feedback about communication and the underwriting process is important, and I’d appreciate the chance for our Client Advocate team to review what happened and learn from it. If you’re open to reaching out, you can contact us at 1-800-212-5200 or ClientAdvocate@vu.com, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time.
Sincerely,
Claire S., Client Relations Manager
Veterans United really helped us get a home. My spouse and I were not doing well credit wise, one call changed it all. We got set up with the lighthouse program and in 10 months we were ready. During that time , Veterans United kept reaching out and checking up on our progress... they didn't give up on us. The whole process was fast to say the least. Veterans united took care of everything , and we honestly used their partnerships and programs to get everything else squared away , because it is not only quicker , but honestly money saving as well. If you are on the fence , I really encourage you to reach out and talk to someone at least. Talking to someone is what got us started. And we absolutely knew zero about home buying.
I work in finance/banking. I am very impressed with Blake’s ability to close on a rather complex loan. Looking forward to doing more loans in the future
